Jean-Michel Cousteau, oceanographer and son of Jacques Cousteau has inaugurated in the town of Lucca the Italian branch of the "Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society" foundation, whose aim is to promote respect for the environment, seas and oceans and their inhabitants.
The Italian branch, chaired by Commendator Francesco Arcoleo, has already planned several projects, among these: the creation of camps where young people can learn about the sea and experience a fair relationship with the environment, the creation of partnerships aimed at monitoring and protecting the Mediterranean Sea and also the promotion ofscientific research.
